The "Science in the Public Service" Campaign and the Hong Kong Economic Times cooperate in the publication of a series of articles on the Liberal Studies section of the newspaper weekly since 5 May 2008. The articles are produced after interviews with experts or professionals from government bureaux, departments and collaborating organizations. The articles introduce how they use science and technology to serve the public and cover a wide range of topics. Each article is followed by a discussion column to stimulate students' thinking. The articles can be accessed in the "Science in the Public Service" web page under http://www.science.gov.hk/eng/liberal-studies-e.htm
Under the "Science in the Public Service" Campaign, a series of popular science talks are organized from July to December 2008 at the Hong Kong Science Museum. The program schedule can be found at http://www.science.gov.hk/eng/info-talks.htm
A Fun Fair will be held on 14-16 November 2008 at the Victoria Park. The program will include game booths, stage performances, competitions and many interesting exhibits, large and small. The purpose is to let people know, in a light-hearted manner, more about campaign partners’ application of science and technology in providing services, and to allow students to learn through fun. Many government departments/bureaus, collaborating organizations and tertiary institutions will take part in the event.
