As the "Science in the Public Service" Campaign enters its second year, we will have a series of activities to introduce the government departments' scientific works and the application of technology in providing services.
The number of partners of the campaign have increased from last year's 30 to 43 this year. They include government bureaux and departments and technology- or education-related institutions.
The campaign plans to conduct the following activities this year:
(1) A series of scientific talks
(2) Visits to government departments/facilities
(3) Symposia for directorates and senior staff in civil service
(4) Talks at schools
(5) Roving exhibits on loan to schools
(6) A newspaper column in liberal studies
(7) A project competition
(8) A joint open day of partner departments/bureaux
The first activity this year is related to the celebration of the 1st Anniversary of Hong Kong Wetland Park. The Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department will organize "Take a Closer Look to the Life of Wetlands" activity at the Hong Kong Wetland Park on 20 May. We will continue organizing various activities to further enhance the public awareness towards science and its implications on daily life, so that the spirit of "Advancing Science, Advancing Service" will become more popular among the public.
